So what would you expect when the ringgit is unpeg and floating in the money market, would the value be weaker or stronger against the dollar? Also I read that china's RMB, as expected had already made some 2% gains against the greenback what do u think the appropriate value of RM to USD? Wink

..definitely expect RM 2 b stronger..............................cost of imports shld trend down slightly.......leaving Govt free 2 adjust petrol prices up slightly..........without increasing inflation rates....

..and with inflation rates fairly stable.....................see no reason now 4 BLR 2 rise anymore..............................

....in fact, overall 4 properties in M'sia :-

Plus :-

1) low interest rates looks likely 2 stay 4 the med term..
2) peoples purchasing power in M'sia looks likely 2 increase

Minus :-

1) foreigners expectation of gain in RM is now over.......not much 'hot' money gonna flow in.....

...anyway, all of above, analysis from 'wannabe' economist onli............dun kill me o.k.... Very Happy

All over the news this morning. Was too busy yesterday to notice this.

Will be interesting to see how much richer in USD we are richer by if we were to liquidate all our assets immediately :p Otherwise, i doubt if it will have any effect to the average person.

And yep, petrol price hike. Siao liao.. with a revaluation and a price hike, how to pump in JB after this :p

Many believe that the fair value of RM is 3.60 to USD. I don't think this would affect the average consumers too much, but having said that with this valuation, imports would be cheaper right? However exports would be less competitive but I doubt it would create an outflow of foreign capital. Hmm, cars would be cheaper? Wink
