I'm so mad ... Ah Wai's workers SHIT in my master bedroom's toilet and didn't flush !!! And my hubby tried to flush, the water can't flush away.
He has to flushed 2 times !!! Then we make complaint to Ah Wai. He said I need to press & hold on the knob for a while for big pee and press for a second for small pee, to save water wor.
But the thing is, water in the toilet bowl can't flush away!!!
And whenever I flush d toilet, the noise is so loud!!! Not only tht, the workers also eat & throw d rubbish all over the house!!!
I just got to found out tht the layout(in S&P) of my toilet 2 is differ than the actual build. According to my S&P, my toilet 2's door doesn't facing my bedroom 3's door. But the actual build is face-to-face.
Is it possible to make complaint?
The Ah Wai keeps delaying the works. I can't wait any longer liao, need to get my contract to do wiring. Sigh ... Evil or Very Mad

oh jeslym,..

sub-contractors always shit first...and some how nvr bother to flush.
I kena the same for 1-2 times,...what the heck, i just clean up the mess
myself with proper 'tools' and wash liquid,..stronger ones!

On DEC 6, I offcially moved into my unit. I too can't afford to wait
for Ah Wai's team.
What i did for the re-occuring water marks was,..repainted the wall
with sealer 2 layers..and then only put a coat of paint (GLister).
So far, the marks ain't re-appearing for 30 days...I am still monitoring.

Anyhow, i took 3 days off for the moving activities. Yesterday was my first
swim with my son in the pool, small..of course..but hey it was fun.

I heard one lady complained abt everything of Villamas, hey...
if you set a higher expectations, you will get disappointed more!
I also washed my car at the bay provided, small....but adequate.

We hv the SUN paper daily at the guard house..not bad, ...

those posted here....do pls update!!

Hi Jes,

your floor 13A, facing the pool?

if you see a tall chinese guy 30 yr old with his 2 yr old son playing in
the pool, most likely it's me! haha.

yeah, strong winds.....but help to dry my clothes faster.

all my neighbours are in, front, sides. I am the nearest to the lift
area on 7th floor.

Yeah, nice guards..I complained to mgmt though that the
mini slope at the end of the ramp at lobby is dangerous.
many ppl have tripped or fell, like my son and mother.
They should put a sticker on the fllor as markers.

I am using Streamyx, not bad....love the speed.
No ASTRO for me,....and no plans to install. For ASTRO, we are
using the same line / input? Don't think allow the dish installed
on balcony.

so u and hubby only ? congrats for moving in neighbour.

Thx toAzlan from mgmt ofis ...

Went to mgmt ofis on last Sat to check out my Astro and only recall it's the car park balloting day for Jan07-Apr07. Managed to get a parking bay for myself. I'm the last three to get d parking bay. Yeah !!!

I had a terrible nite last nite, the winds are super strong ... d "weird" sound is so scary ... my hubby went to investigate d source of d sound.
Winds came in from the celah-celah in d sliding window which caused the "wird" sound. After I opened d sliding window for about 20CM .. d "weird" sound gone ...
Yesterday winds are very strong and I don't even hv to on d fan ... yet ... I felt cold ... geng ... Shocked

jeslym,

ah ha...i saw the queue for the parking at 9AM. I thought it's first come
first serve, no balloting. Luckily I don't need extra car park for now.
But as more ppl come in, the queue will grow and probably
balloting needed.

You're so high up, the winds must be crazy. The the sound too, i can imagine. I went up to 16th floor twice, the wind sounds can be errie..
yikes, !
I don't hv that sound at 7th floor. Phew.

Yeah, i installed air-con in living room, till now only used 1-2 per mth..haha, cold most at night.

Kinrara Koi, piling ceremony on Sunday 7th Jan....oh ho....most
noise on weekdays now in the morning. Yikes!

Hi dericq,

Oh ya ... the parking is on first come first serve basis.
I heard from the HB's mgr (from HQ) tht ppl q up since 6:30am Shocked

Btw, rgd to water heater, I hv bought a water heater(with pump), regretted liao. The water pressure for my unit is very strong. So I hardly need to on the pump system. Water heater with pump is usually expensive than water heater w/o pump .. wasted liao Rolling Eyes

yeah, i would say the water pressure is better here at Villamas
compared to my old apt. Likely i believe the tank is at the top, thus
your unit is getting stronger pressure.

mine at the middle, i need the pump. I only installed 1 water heater
with pump, cost me RM400. Ariston brand, so far so good...recommended
by my electrical shop boss.

without pump probably RM200-300, I guess the difference not much. Wink

Thank God, I work in Cyberjaya....leave before 8AM...can reach
office before 8:45AM on normal days.

I have the luxury to work frm home due to broadband if needed.

i used it before to go to Amcorp Mall on a Monday morning...
better to start before 7:30AM...a crawl expected after the traffic lights nearby Projet, stick to the right lane if you see a BUS in front..after
the lights...they always stop to pick up passengers on left, thus
causing JAM...stupid! (at Jln Puchong Lama)

Traffic is better when in Old Klang Road...but once back in Federal
Highway,...guess same thing...crawl again..if accident, lagi teruk!

good luck

Hi folks
Good to see some residents of Villamas here. I bought a unit here, and plan to move in soon.

Can i ask some of you guys who has done renovation work. I plan to start my reno soon, like next week so that I can move in soon. However, i missed out one important point, which is to get approval from the apartment management.

Would someone advise me on what needs to be done to get passes for my contractor, and who should I speak to in the apartment management? Will it take long to get the passes for my contractor? I am in a rush, as my contractor starts work next week. Any aspect of renovation which I need to watch out for?

Thanks a lot for your advise.

Chris

1) fill up the forms required (remember the Villamas handbook?)

2) pay deposit of RM500 (refundable), and RM20 for admin charges.

3) In the form, just put yr main contractor's name / company.

4) just state briefly what reno you are going to do.

5) once form submitted, normally reno can start within 1-3 days..

Nitrous,

which floor is yr unit?

things to be take note:

1) grill design

2) location of the air-con compressor.

3) wiring, plan properly for the extra electrical outlets, fan & lights
positions in each room / area. Once done, hard to U-turn.

4) do take care of proper plumbing reno. Prevent leaks to unit below.

5) I added extra phone line outlet.

6) MAKE SURE all /most defects are resolved below actually starting the reno.

happy reno, and moving in soon...keep us updated.

Hi dericq
Thanks for the tips and advice. I m in unit 11-05. My contractor did speak to the management last Friday and looks like the management did speak to him on some items regarding the reno. Some of the items you mentioned :

Quote:
1) grill design
- The grill design I have is almost the same as the one specified by the management, the colour will be black as well. Hopefully they are ok with some slight difference.

Quote:
2) location of the air-con compressor.
- This one is something that I have difficulty complying with, as my living room compressor is a 2HP one and it doesn't fit the way the management wants it to (perpendicular 90 degrees to the balcony). It is just too big.

Quote:
3) wiring, plan properly for the extra electrical outlets, fan & lights
positions in each room / area. Once done, hard to U-turn.
- Thanks for the advice!

Quote:
4) do take care of proper plumbing reno. Prevent leaks to unit below.
- I specified additional waterproofing, which cost me a bomb, to prevent leakages to the unit below. Unfortunately, the unit below is unoccupied, i might need to get keys from Ah Wai to check on leakages.

Quote:
5) I added extra phone line outlet.

6) MAKE SURE all /most defects are resolved below actually starting the reno.
- It took me 6 months since June 06 to get finally get my defects completed, so I hope that there's no more defects to work on. Very Happy Hopefully the reno works goes well.

BTW, does anyone stays in 11th Floor? I am starting my reno soon, and would need to let those staying in 11th Floor know about the reno.

Thanks a lot for the advice ya!

PostPosted: Mon Jan 22, 2007 2:53 pm    Post subject: air con Reply with quote

talking on air-con compressor, I also installed 2.0HP in my living room.
I selected Mitsubishi brand, and it can fit in well 90 degrees to the
sliding door. If you face the balcony, all my compressors (2) are on the left side.

either yr unit balcony is smaller, (mine is unit Type B - 1169 sq ft)
or the brand you chose, has a very large compressor.

The other brand of mine is LG, even smaller compressor , 1.0 HP.
That's for the room2.

For masterbed room, I installed Samsung 1.0HP..

Room 3 (facing lift area), I just did the wiring ready for future plan
in case I wish to install another air-con.

I also ugraded my MCB (Main Circuit Board), cost RM500..to handle
more heavy usage of electricity. (max is 3 air-cons total of 4HP running on the same time as advised).

So, you plan to stay in eh?

If you plan to get a phone line, quickly ask Telekom for availability, or apply early if you wish, preferably 1 mth before you move in. I waited 3 weeks to get a line.
My neighbours got their line later, even though they moved in earlier.
Probably, I make noise a lot at the Telekom Kedai..hai!

advise your reno contractor to properly dispose of the rubbles, as
we got irresponsible contractors who simply left some stuff in the staircase, or dump it outside the rubbish collection hut.

Ants attacked !!! Ants are crawling into my unit from yard.
They crawl from yard into my kitchen, bathroom and some into my rooms. Anyone experience the same?

I seldom cook and I cleared leftover food everyday.
