hv been reading thru the Tamarind forum and there's lots of info there on renovation works. will try to compile them and post it here for our benefit.

a quick q: i actually never got around to completing the electricty request thing. do you all think it's going to be an issue if i submit it over the enxt few days ? i live outside malaysia and to be honest i overlooked this piece of paper : my bad !!!

hv seen the pictures on saffron website and looks like it's really underway fast.

guy: even my home loan officer bought a unit here and i'm guessing you're talking about William, yes ?

Hi madge,
congratulations and welcome to the club!

regarding ur question, it is allright as long as u remember to pay ur electricity supply deposit once u r back. pls check with the sales office and they will assist u.
if u forget to pay, it might cause delay to supply electricity to ur new unit when the keys had been handover.

when i drive by yesterday, i notice that they had started constructing the curve water wall. it actually looks quite nice.

coming to the development, anybody has idea how's YTL record in property management and maintenance?

When i was at Saffron site few monts ago, i noticed there were huge cracks vertically in Tamarind. I don't know whether it's a structural defect or not....I hope that Saffron do not suffer the same fate.... Sad

Personally i found that Tamarind is the 1st YTL's project in sentul and of course they had already noticed the problem before they build the second project (Maple).

Then, saffron & maple got it similar design on big area for window & less area for brick wall to minimise the wall crack issue. Already one year Maple been handed over, so far the facade look great.

Received email from YTL about the kitchen and air con packages.
Any opinion about the packages?

dear all,

appreciate if anyone can help.

understand that last time when YTL first launch Saffron, they launch it in stages, ie, certain block's unit first, then only the remaining rite?

does anyone know the price difference (if any) between the first few blocks and the remaining?

thanks

i think the aircon package is ok but the kitchen cabinet is a bit too expensive. mine is type B3 and it's a very small kitchen. the cost is only slightly lower than the cost of my kitchen cabinet at my current terrace house...i think i'll pass on this...

I felt the aircon package ok. Anyone knows how the trunking will be done?. I thought all the copper pipes were inbuilt.

Kitchen too costly for me. I intend to diy ikea kitchen. Too bad we cant go up and take measurements of the kitchen now.

Hi guys,
From my opinion, it is a fair price. I checked out a few and most is above RM 10,000 for a standard built in kitchen package. If we wanted to go below it, then the material used is not as good. If we are doing ourselves, i will definitely recommend that find a contractor who u can trust as most quote enormously high with poor material and workmanship. Nowadays, it is really hard to find an honest, reliable and trustworthy contractor. Anyway, the price is only for that design. If we change, the price should be costlier since this design and price is package as a lump sump for the saffron owners.

I understand that the handover for the keys will be done once all the saffrons owners who had bought the air cond package and kitchen package is installed. Therefore, somewhere in early may or later since the closing date for air cond package is 31 march 08.

Capers will be located in the plot behind D6 which is the opposite of D7 (just across the road). Previously, was the ktm staff quaters and had been demolished during the weekend. I guess it is quite near to the low cost homes. Not sure the impact but the positive point is that it is near to sentul and sentul timur lrt station.

cheers!
