went to ikea again, with the intention of getting a sink and mirrors for the bathrooms ended up spending nearly 1K for many other stuffs... not stepping foot into ikea in the near future !! Evil or Very Mad Ikea is evil !! Twisted Evil

oh by the way - found my sink : Laughing Laughing

they temporary sold out the cheaper one (RM145) - this is the second cheapest Rolling Eyes

.://..ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S49847455

No drainer summore !! Evil or Very Mad

and oh - found a cheap lighting shop. there are two lighting shops at the shop lots facing Serdang Commuter station. V-World has more items selling at cheaper price, I bought 15 units from him and he gave me further discounts on the more expensive units.

for three spotlight decorative lights - IKEA selling cheaper at RM59 (different but similar patent), the rest very cheap. 1 bulb decorative light with two glass panel = $15 only Shocked - with three bulbs = RM39. and after my survey their 18W philips energy saving light bulb is the cheapest at only RM9 per unit, the neighbor is selling at RM10/unit. Other players such as giant >RM15 and above.

but if you want the entrance type of light - the other shop (two shops away) has some cheaper ones. I bought one unit of light there and the rest all from V-Light lol .

btw- all the lights come with bulbs - i bought few energy saving bulbs to replace the original non energy bulb on lights that i will use often - study-computer room for example.

oso - Panasonic bau fan also cheaper at the next door electrical shop. I bought my all four units of panasonic fans from them - Weng Ho electric (same lot of shop) - 2 panasonic bayu, 1 regular panasonic with regulator for second second room and one panasonic wall fan 16" all for less than RM750.

Gas hob and cooker hood - from SenQ the Mines Wonderland. Both elba. Kindly note that for gas hob - some are more expensive because they have ceramic placed on the burner. the cheaper ones are usually without the ceramic. I can see the shining black colour ceramic on the gas hob. Nice looking but as i dont cook often, cheaper one oso can lah.

Cooker hood - the bigger the suction power, the more expensive. Those under RM400 are usually with <>750 suction power. Where as the <>RM600 as the suction power of nearly 2x at <>1100.

take note of all these when purchase these items.

confirm my curtain oso - from a shop in Seri Kembangan old town, one 'sunshade' type fabric for master room.

btw - IKEA curtain and curtain rod VELI cheap !! but have to panjat tangga, tebuk lubang at the wall or u need to get people to install it lah.

I confirm my kitchen cabinet oredi. only 8ft base, 8ft hung cabinet plus 4ft sink cabinet.

Lighting installation and phone wiring = essenza. Essenza is also doing the cornish for my living - to dinning - the whole thing for RM350. Had to do cornish - though slightly passe, because they cant hack the ceiling or kitchen wall to conceal my phone line extension. So have to cover the damn thing using the cornice. Oso i cannot do the plaster ceiling because - my main switch is too low, cannot move. if move void warranty. so did not do any plaster ceiling. after warranty period - i will move the main swith and only then - pasang plaster ceiling.

Also - IKEA has lots of kitchen and bathroom accesories that are very neat looking and extremely practical at a reasonable price. For type A master room bath, there is not much that we can do but to install a mirror, 1 or 2 glass wall shelfs, shower curtain rod and curtain. Ikea has all this. 1 or 2 of their mirror design fit the master bathroom perfectly. not to big, not too small and slim. one mirror is approx <>RM69. There is also a small white colour steel cabinet that you can install in the master bath.

As for the second bath room, because its bigger - the sink is also MUCH more bigger, you can install a mirror cabinet RM199.

for kitchen, get the 4ft steel trail. install it on the sink cabine wall. get the dish drainer and hook it to the trail. you can get two if you want. there settle! you have a drainer. This solves of the problem of small sink area.

and oh - these stupid defect people drop something heavy on my floor tiles. one hideosly scratched/cracked - dunno how they are going to replace it. have not reported it. just noticed when i unloaded my Ikea items to the unit.

Curtain tips Wink

Master room/Second room:

Window size;

Width: 6ft (183cm)
Height: 3'10"

for curtain:
Width: 6ft 6"
Height: 5ft

til floor: 8ft

Curtain rod:
IKEA Rule: must allow the rod to project 10-15cm on each side.

therefore = 183+20=203cm (6.6ft)

IKEA curtain rod length (retractable):

1. 70cm - 120cm = RM9.9
2. 120-210cm = RM15.9 (master/second room 3 panel window)
3. 210-385cm = RM25 (three panel balcony sliding door)

Double rod wall fittings/2pcs = RM9.90
Single rod wall fittings/2pcs = RM4.90

Curtain rings 10pcs = RM9.90
Curtain rod index (the end on each side)/2pcs = from RM9.90-RM25 depending on paterns.

sim,
u ni mmg centre for everything lah! hahaha. rajin giler p jln2. smlm i
pg jln2 all the way kt balakong. saja2 nk tgk furniture. aiyoh. penatnya.
mcm mna u can manage cari sme bnda eh? Laughing

anyway, i dh confirm kitch kbnt smlm. but not with ur friend lah.
i pg jln2 smlm jmpa satu kedai, then we get stuck when look at
all the sample and the price. all the pakej included hob n hood, sinki,
mirror wardrobe n concrete for sinki kbnt. hahaha.. pay for booking
rm 100 alredi. thanks and sorry sim, for all the trouble. Very Happy

i pg tgk defect smlm n mcm yg dijangka, apa pun tak siap lg! then i pg
terus jmpa shahrul. i said, i nk masuk lepas raya. rumah sewa dh release
for next month (which is not lah). then i saja2 bkk peti surat, found my
electric bill. ELECTRIC BILL! kna caj rm 3 for sewa meter. tp dlm rumah
langsung takde electric! so, masa jmpa shahrul tu, terus lah i komplen
skl kat shahrul tu. ada sorg apek kt situ, n happen to be, apek tu yg patut
setel my unit. the reason is tiles tak sampai lg. for so long, takkan itu je
reason yg mereka boleh bagi? i ckp, its ok abt the tiles, i boleh faham.
but, mcm mna dgn keje2 yg lain tu? DB box for electric, frame tingkap,
kunci sliding door, itu semua tak melibatkan tiles. kenapa tak buat dulu?
i waited for so long, n now still have to wait lagi. bila nk siap?

i think dat shahrul boring dh dgn i. hahahaha. and oh, my grille dh pasang!
tp mereka cat grille tu sampai kna dinding luar rumah i yg warna ppl tu.
so i minta mereka cat blk.

n sim, again, thank you for all ur help. and also thanks for all the info. i
mmg selalu rujuk sini utk cari apa2 info sbb i tau u mesti dh siap dgn byk
bnda. Laughing

I met with this construction guy in JM's lift. He is doing quite a "major" renovation at 6th floor. He gave me quotation which I feel OK (not sure lah): Kitchen Wall Cabinet + Sinki Cabinet + Sinki Wall Cabinet around RM1500, grill full RM1750.... not yet ask him about the type of material. But if you r interested, call him (Frankie Yap) at 0162333187.

Ya, IKEA curtain hood is quite cheap, the kitchen assessories too. I din go to IKEA, check the website only.

My colleague told me to check on some factory name sounded like "Cavency" at Balakong... not yet check.

I am also mad at the defect... but I tell myself : OKlah, move in too early pun I have to tahan all the renovation grilling noise from ground to level 20... jadi lambat sikit pun ada baiknya....
