Hi, would like to check if your UOB BLR rate is using 6.75% or 7%?
My loan starting since Jan when they charge me MRTA. And my rate is BLR-2%. The 1st 2 months are at 4.75% but from March onwards, they charge me at 5% interest. That is why i am asking this questions. This should be bank mistakes right? Or they can just simply charge me at higher rate?

Hi Isomatric,

I'm a loan borrower from UOB and I don't think such serious mistaken would happened even on your first year!?!But here I advise you may check your offer letter for the interest on fist year cause and it may be you may stated "first interest rate is BLR-2% for 12 month or before March'08".

As I know that your interests rate suddenly changed without any noticed always is borrower over looked on details of Offer Letter...

If you still can't find any reason why they charged you higher rate within 12 months period then the best way you can do "Loan audit analysis"on it.
Hopefully you are happy on my sharing.

Regards,Joseph

Hi JosephT,
May i know your loan is monthly payment or weekly? Mine is weekly payment. The first month is ok, all according to the amount deduction. This month is disaster. Oct 4 one deduction (which is ok), Oct 6 another deduction (weekly loan payment X2), then now Oct 11 another deduction (loan payment + RM2.50). Really can't trust UOB so much... i demand a reply from them since last week and till now haven't given me answer yet. They just simply deduct what they like? I must go to higher level. THEY ARE SCREWED UP.

Hi Iso,

There are no doubt to say this is disaster!!!
My loan is Flexi Loan,Daily rate.If you say your loan is weekly payment, you really have to check your offer letter to avoid any such disaster keep knock your door.(b'cos i m query how a loan lender have to make it to ignore their benefits!?!)

I m very detail in monitoring my loan statement because flexi loan is more complicated in interests calculation(you can check inside these forum for interests calculation which is very kind-hearted ppl's sharing).I assume you are not really understand your loan agreement and condition and may caused you are confused on it.But you can stated more details of what your offer letter stated and I willing to discuss and sharing with you if...you want...

Regards,Tey

Asking for refund is really a long process from UOB. Imagine one month already but thing SLOWLY progressed. No refund yet but only changed my interest rate. They are still the winner because daily interest daily compute and they just add to my principle more and more yet i only sitting here wait and wait.... for FULL refund.....

Now another charged again.... Insurance Fee... Dunno what is this again? I never instruct UOB to buy any insurance from me lei? They just simply like to charge. And all are without me knowing... and you have to ask again... This is NOV only. Dec dunno what kind of extra charges they will come up again.

I am so sorry on your case. If you dont mind maybe i can help you to check the status of your case. Just feel free to email me your account number and the problem you are facing..May i know which branch you take the loan?
By the way, if i not mistaken, the insurance you mean above should be the fire insurance. The bank will actually bought it on behalf of you. This may practice in most of the bank. But if you have bought your own fire insurance of the property, just fax the policy to the branch and ask of waiver for this.
Hope this can help you. Wink
